Truck Mounted Blower

*UPDATE 1-2-10*

That is cool you have my Uncles truck on here. There is a few mistakes though one is that the truck is a 327 and the Sno Blo is powered by a 200 straight six out of an old Mustang. Second is that it is not hydraulic, that is a three speed tranny running in reverse for proper rotation. The box there is a cover for the double roller chain that goes down to a series of shafts the go to the three point hitch tractor snow blower. It is a reinforced Fisher plow frame with a larger lift cylinder. The Fisher hydraulics lift it and rotate the neck. The Mustang power plant is started and rpm is controlled from in the cab with an ignition switch and electric governor. Third and sadly is the truck wasn't that solid, the setup is now on a 1990 GMC 2500. I just got done welding the diffs for him, he said that she doesn't push like the old girl.

Thanks for your time and once again, cool man.

Thanks Josh!

This blower truck is I believe a 1970 GMC. It is owned by Steve Dolan from Boonville, NY. He uses it to keep his hotel clear. That would be The Headwaters Motor Lodge, on Rt. 12 North in Booneville. My brother stays there when he goes snow mobiling.

Anyway, Steve let him take pictures of his Sno-Blo (HARD) in action.

Gas tank from a 73 - 87 Chevy(22gal).
See the shaft going to the 3 speed tans?

That's a 200 Ford inline 6 powering the blower.

Front view. Looks mean doesn't it? I'd be scared to transport it from job to job.
Unlike with a plow, any accident would be very costly.

Truck is in great shape for a 70 in Upstate NY. Has a 327 in it.
